A message from Andrea Varney, who has been coordinating volunteer efforts in Proctor:
Most folks don't seem to be aware that Proctor had any flood damage. While not as severely hit as other communities, Proctor does have folks who need help. I would just like to bring this to your attention.
All the homes on Willow Street and the end of Meadow Street were flooded up to the ceiling in the basement. Several have hazardous materials problems from overturned fuel tanks. We still have several people who are not able to return to their homes. Several older people are living with relatives temporarily, one family of six is communing from Ludlow for a few weeks. Folks on Elm Street lost belonging stored in their basements due to flooding as well.
